B&D NST1024
As other reviews noted, the battery time is poor, only about 10-15 minutes. But as noted by another review, the
18 volt battery from my B&D hedge trimmer can also be used on this piece, allowing me to have enough battery power to finish my work. The trimmer does do an excellent job, and despite the short battery life, I would buy it again, to avoid the hassle of a gas powered unit!

Better Than Expected
Day one of testing and it worked GREAT. Been without a weedeater for 4 weeks so grass was tall around the plants and house. Wonderful machine and much easier to use than our last gas powered weedeater. Very flexible and adjustable with good balance. Battery lasted through all that was needed (about 20 min) and do not expect it to take that long next time. The swivel head was something I thought I would never use but for edging around the flowers; it is perfect. Two new items in one week and perfectly happy with both. A 370Z and a battery operated weedeater; life is GREAT.

Just mine

Apparently views on how long the battery lasts to do a job are optional. B&D thinks it should be no more than an hour while some of us just take longer and alas the battery dies so it has to be recharged and you need to get dirty all over again the next day!

Very Happy!
For three years I have been on the hunt for the right trimmer/edger to come along and this one is it for me. Since I will not own a gas trimmer, I was open to buying a corded however I really wanted a battery version. Reviews on the 18 volt weren't impressive and not until I read the reviews on this 24 volt did I seriously consider buying it..which I did 3 months ago. I absolutely love it and it is the perfect one for me. As a tall female, I wanted the straight shaft w/adjustable handle which this has both. I agree w/others that the 4 allen bolts to adjust the handle are cumbersome and it took me a couple of trims to find my perfect handle location. I am the only one using the trimmer thus empathize w/others who adjust the handle for different users in the household. Other reviews mention how tiring it can be to hold down the power trigger w/safety release button and I have solved this by simply changing my heavyweight gloves to my lightweight version which makes it SO much easier to feel/hold down the trigger. I also found that once the trigger is down in power mode, I no longer have to hold the safety release button which makes it easier on the hand. I have a decent size plot of land with a long driveway, medium amount of trimming along the house and an extensive forever wild that backs up to the back side of my house. When fully charged, the battery is juussstttt enough to do my entire property for both trimming and edging. This thing has some power to it and I have no problem wacking down some of the larger wild grasses. The edger does crisp clean borders on my driveway although I did wish it had guide wheels like the Worx GT does. Once I got the handle in the right position, I find the weight distribution makes it fairly easy to handle although I do get tired when doing a consistent amount in the trimming mode. I have also read with with NiCad batteries it's better to deplete a battery fully before recharging but with this battery, I can't seem to deplete it completely. It slows down to where it gently wacks the grass but won't completely stop. So I just run it down as much as I can then go ahead and recharge it. BDecker cust service says just do a recharge after every use regardless of how much juice is left. They also say to recharge once per month when not in use during the winter months. So all in all, I am VERY happy with this product. My only concern is my poor history w/BDecker products but those were mostly kitchen appliances. So I hope this one holds up past the 2 year warranty...lol...
