Amazon.com Review:
Great for do-it-yourself lawn care, Agri-Fab's spike aerator perforates sod and grass to let in nutrients, air, and moisture for a healthier lawn. An array of rotating star-shape tines slices into the soil to allow additional seed, fertilizer, water, air, and light to reach the grass roots. The 5- to 7-inch spiked wheels provide up to 2-1/2 inches of aeration depth. The long axle offers a 16-inch aerating width to cover a lot of ground fast. The aerator is equipped with a steel weight tray designed to hold a concrete block that pushes the spikes into moist ground. Some tool-less assembly is required. The spike aerator is covered by an Agri-Fab 12-month warranty on parts and labor. --Brian Olson

Good for garden, but not for lawn
As other reviewers have already noted, this aerator does not do a good job when working on the lawn - it basically just glides over it so very little if any aeration going on.

I do find it very useful, however, in my vegetable and flower gardens since the soil in those beds is much "looser" (not packed down.) Before I plant each spring, I use this tool in the beds to aerate the soil - a great "bonus" is that while the spikes are turning, they are loosening weeds from the soil. It cuts weeding time by more than half.

Then I add whatever soil and/or supplements I am using that spring (garden soil, compost, weed/pest control, etc.) and use this aerator to mix the compounds together and spread them throughout the garden. While some elbow grease is still required, it is so much easier on my joints and muscles than the manual garden rake. I have back "issues" accompanied by severe chronic pain... just preparing the beds used to take weeks... this aerator makes the job quicker and is very much less debilitating.

Every few weeks throughout the spring and summer, I use this tool carefully around the growing plants to aerate the soil some more, and to tear up the newly grown weeds as I go.

Order lost but replacement of order was excellent
The order was lost in the mail but once I got in touch with the vendor to let them know I had not received anything, I was notified it was being refilled and got the package the following business day. It was handled excellently and I couldn't have been more satisfied.
